Is your computer running slow? Does it freeze up and even crash? Do you get weird messages such as "Windows file hal.dll could not be found or is corrupt, or something like it?" If you have a slow computer, you are certainly not alone. Just about everyone who owns a computer has frustrations from time to time. But some are more serious than others.
Right now, I want to look at some common problems with PC's and what could be causing them. See if you can identify with any of these:
Laptop With Tablet Screen
o Your PC takes way too long to start up, especially compared to before
o Your computer is much slower than it used to be
o Your computer often freezes or crashes
o You often get messages such as "Invalid Registry key," "Cannot Locate Driver, " or "DLL missing"
o You cannot open some programs and games
o It takes forever for internet pages to load
o You get the dreaded "blue screen of death"
So, what is causing all of these problems? The culprit is the Windows registry. This large database is the computer's control center and stores a number of files and entries that Windows is accessing on an ongoing basis. Windows also places many files inside this registry, and even though many of them are deleted, some stick around and cause problems when they become corrupt, or when the registry gets too big.
If your PC registry gets too big, the best way to fix it is to use a registry cleaner. Trying to do this on your own could result in a lot of problems, the worst being irreversible damage to the hard drive if you accidentally delete the wrong file. A registry cleaner will safely scan your PC for problems and repair them. It will also work to keep them from coming back.
